What engine?

Hey, I'm new to the forum and have just bought my self a 95 Golf. However there is some conflicting information on what size engine it has, is there an easy way to tell for sure?

Wow that was quick in finding a golf! It took you a week was it?

To answer ur question basically CL = 1.8L, GL = 2.0L and VR6 = 2.8L.

its a GL, metalic green. So appears to be a 2 ltr, because it said some where about it being a 1.6ltr, but it pulls very nicely up hill, I would say even better than my old SSS pulsar did up hill in 5th.

Don't think I will mod it too much, it looks very nice now, but maybe some time in the future. I might only do a few small things for now, are there any good known wheel alignment setup? how about advancing the timing?

It has the 16'' wheels with 205 tyres.

Are the wheels aftermarket?

16"s are a good wheel you don't lose to much power, a nice exhaust and CAI will open up the car abit a good investment.

They are speedy wheels, I have seen them on a lot of golfs though. Will probably hold of on those sort of mods for now.
