Anything i should look out for on a 98 CL Golf...

Just thoght id ask because im interested in one...

mate look out for the power windows, they f*^K up alot. very common in mk3. I have a friend same car 98 cl hey fixed it twice since brand new, bought my 94 golf with 2 windows broken, got it quoted for $320 each with installation.

Yeh windows are a given. Just check everything like you'd buy any other car. I'd look out for the rear hatch rubbers - rust? As well as heater working (matrix) and whether its had its services. Itd be up for a timing belt change it if hasnt had one already.

Are you sure a 98 CL Golf has power windows... The reason i want a CL is because they are basic with no funky features... I want it lite as... No un-needed crap...

i have searched for a 3dr cl for ages and they havent shown up,,,very hard to find!!!

Mk3 CL...

Yeah we searched for a Cl coupe for ages but the only ones we found were at salvage auctions with side damage... Very hard to get doors and side panels... Thats why im looking at a 4 door because doors are pretty cheap and there is a lot more parts around...

So can any one confirm me about having electric windows in a 98 CL...

aha,,thats why,,ahh well,,,maybe you should get a 3 dr if they are cheap and get golf_loom to bring the parts in from o/s,id love to get one!!!

Some late model CLs 97-98 have electric windows in the front and winders in the back.
Why not just swop the GL eleccy ones for cl wind up ones and get a GL??
