Interestingly they were built by Karmann in Osnabruck I believe, as VW did not have the space

I was looking at this too and I want one too.
However, its newer than an 88 model so you have to own it for a year overseas before you can import it

Personally I don't like the design, but the rarity of it in Australia makes it a worthwhile car to own!

Do the import rules apply to NZ too?

I think that they call it the Golf Estate, it would make them rare but I guess with a market full of station wagons probably thought it would be be good.

                My original post is missing

I believe the reason we did not get this model was due to either the price and/or the importers at the time did not care about expanding the VW Range.

                  I want one too...

Mk3 estate is one the horniest looking wagons ever... I saw heaps in europe and they look hot as... I really dig them... Definatley on my list of most wanted along with all the other sick dubs we dont get in oz... If you get one just make sure no one runs up your arse bcuz it would be hell getting parts...

Also the PVW photo/editor has a yellow one, dropped on BBS's and soon to get VR6 transplant... Oh very nice...

                  Cheers James

                      Damn

Luck u bro, if u going down for holiday, buy it and register it in your name and park in NZ for a year, then for sure u would be able to bring it over after that.

Someone should put a post up and show all the makes of vw around the world, from mk1, mk1 caddy, whatelse came in a mk1 shape, etc? would be interesting to know all the different vw made since the mk1.
