  • problem worthy of lols...

so i've got this retarded problem, and I think it's only started happening since I installed the Schrick (but can't be sure).

The car keeps stalling randomly when I'm not using the engine. Ie, taking foot off the clutch to come to a stop, going to leave it in neutral to roll, etc.

I thought it might have been a fuel pump losing pressure or something. I heard the fuel pump whining once but that was when the fuel was low and I haven't noticed the sound since.

Anyone? I'd love not to have to go hunting for the problem, lol...

i had a similar problem. it stopped and started when it felt like it. mine turned out to be the key signal amplifier (the brown part that sits around the key barrel), i had replaced the fuel pump thinking it was the pump but alas it only took a hell of a lot of time and plenty profanities till i worked out what it was. good luck

Hmm okay so a few things I can take a look at. Apparently the Schrick installation includes deleting the plastic container for the ISV but that's not the case on mine; I might delete it and take a look at it.

A friend told me it could also be a vacuum leak, but I'm not too sure on that one as the rest of the vacuum components work fine.

                Cheers peeps

Just so I know, is this something related to an immobiliser? My car doesn't have one so there's no chip issues.

Fitting a new manifold ain't rocket science...

So after a drive tonight I think I worked something else out. When I disengage gear/clutch, it will idle alright but if I put my foot on the brake then it will drop. That's gotta be something to do with the brake booster vacuum line...?

Just fyi, there's nothing wrong with the manifold. There's got to be something wrong with either my fuel pressure, or a vacuum line...

Coming home tonight, cruising in 5th gear at like 2500rpm, if i put my foot on the clutch and disengage the gear, it stalls. Tried it three times and it stalled three times.

guess you'll just have to keep slowly accelerating till you reach your destination... Saves petrol not slowing down for intersections ect too
