    Oh, fair enough. Thanks.

The guy sounded like he knew what he was talking about, but vw was one of like 6 brands they "specialise" in. Only real vw specialist up here is the dealer i believe :/

Either way I'll take your word for it.

So guess what, the internet people were right. Vr6's arent cheap

took it in for its service today, and apparently the fuel injectors are leaking or something (i didn't actually get to talk to them as i was sitting qcs and dad seems hopeless at recalling what they actually said) so there gonna try and recondition them or something :/

Oh and dad gave them the all good to order new like $300 brake rotors for the back, which im certain i could have upgraded at half the cost.

Ohwell, will be nice to have it all running nicely

Ouch, $300 for a pair of rear rotors... I bought a pair of DBA slotted for $50 Granted they weren't new (but never fitted). Shop around next time!

hehe thanks for the kind words peoples

Got it back today, they'd found that the fuel injectors were dirty so cleaned them, and that the fuel pressure regulator was leaking, so replaced that. Also the brake discs were only 170, still more then they probably should be, but not nearly as bad as the like $300 dad told me theyd said. Did a major service, put the new rotors/pads in, fixed up the fuel problem and were very friendly, so I'd be happy to recommend "Advanced Service Centre" to any toowoombarians looking to advoid the dealer.

Was glad i had to rush off to work and leave mum with the bill though, little things add up big time

Felt so good to drive it again though, after two days of driving the little peugot with its silent 2L engine, 4wd stance and lack of scrapage/feel of bumps, driving was actually fun again

Only thing they didn't get done was the wheel alignment, which i wasn't suprised about tbh, as the people they normally use wouldn't do it and since the brake rotors got in late didn't have time to take it somewhere else. They recommended someone who "specialises" in low cars though, so shall give him a call.

                          Heh - love the lows!
I had a wheel alignment when mine was mega-slammed and they used three different sized blocks to get it onto the hoist
I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

Hehe i dont think im even that low reallly, the guy didnt say it was cuase i was too low, he thought my wheels were rubbing on the struts (which they were when i had some crazy amount of camber going on) and that it would need some modification, so didnt even take it to the wheel aligment people.

Could here some sort of scraping noise the whole way home from work, had knocked some plastic guard thing at the front off, nothing a few cable ties couldnt fix

Flaunting the pretty enigne bay in the toowoomba cbd

My calculations based on fuel consumption figures from the mfa may have been a little off and i may have run out of petrol. I may have then put 4 litres in and it may have then not wanted to start. I may have called the RACQ people who may have figured out that it needed like 10L in the tank to get it going again cuase of the stupid hill it may have been parked on... Ofcourse this didnt happen and I spent a non-embarrasing afternoon chilling at home and not by the road with a car that just had no petrol

Other "progress" since last time i posted, wheels are aligned and they now rub a little around corners at high speeds, so will look into doing something to the gaurds. Also think my sump may be leaking

That is what happens when you play chicken with the Fuel Gauge
Not that I can talk, Ive been blissfully ignoring my fuel gauge for the last 2 weeks
Glad to hear about all the work you got done on the car, its a nice feeling when you give your car a bit of TLC
