  • I have to sell my car. Can I survive without it?

I have to sell my car because of other commitments which is devastating. As I reported in the spotted section, I saw a black one exactly the same as mine I coulod not believe it and it looked soooooo good which is making it all the harder to part with. However I will only sell it at the right price. I want $15,000 for it. I know it seems a lot but it has $15,000 woth of mods alone.
What do you guys think. Or should I take it apart and sell it stock?

I dont think it is unreasonable, i just dont think you will get what you are after considering the current market value of our VR6's.

I would say you may get more for it parted and put back to original.

I think if a person is looking for an immaculate VR6 and they actually see it in the flesh and hear it, they would pay the extra $4K for it. It's a matter of finding the right buyer. Alternatively someone could buy a stock one spend $4k and only have some new suspension and wheels..maybe..at a push

hhmmm,,if it was 96-97 you might have a chance, but 94,,,unless its a enthusiast or you are in no hurry to sell.try ripping off as much as you can,its a pain, you then it wont hurt as much when you sell it.

it really depends on how much of a hurry you are in to sell it.
If u need a quick sale then i dont think so. But if you can afford to sit on it and wait there is always a buyer out there willing to pay top dollar. But yeah. being modified usually scares people away. Id pull what i could off as well and sell it stock.

yeah 11k and it was a good sale, car immaculate in and out, all original body work. also threw in a pair of original BBS rims with slicks on them , however the prices of the Vr6's have shot up since then...

Maybe this is just an attitude I have, but when I see someone say "mods WORTH $15k" I walk away. The mods may have cost $15k but they are not worth anything near that. That single word tells me that the owner over-values his car and its really not worth inspecting as he will expect too much for it.

From my experience selling cars with mods, the mods may help clinch the sale but will not really impact on the sale price. I reckon you will stuggle to get any bites at $15k. If it were my car, I would change back some of the less painful mods to stock and sell them on here or Vortex, then advertise the car for $12k willing to negotiate to $11k.

sorry mate but you can nearly get a mk4 GTi for that price and its at least 7 years younger than yours with about 45,000 less km's on the clock....

$12g's would be more realistic, i've been watching VR's for a while and the ones priced around wont budge for months until you drop the price... the best ones sell for around 12 or a bit less and yours is up there...

God luck but that is way too much. Ill be happy with 8.5k for my late 96 with 145k on it.

Start parting it out. Have you got all the original bits?
