Loosing coolant/water like a MOFO

Just fixed the oil breather pipe and after having the car off the road for 3 weeks ( waiting for part ) finally got it (genuine VW part) and it was a little too short I had to extend it by 1cm while doing this I have damaged the crack pipe ( another $150 ive been told ) Im loosing my mind and all my cash

After fitting my newly modded pipe and repaired crack pipe I started the car to test it and noticed the coolant/water pissing out all over the driveway, I filled up the resivour and lost all of it again pretty quickly as if as fast as the water pump could push it through, I tried to find the leak but it seams to be up under the back left side of the engine somewhere.

Please help.

Might be a core plug or the metal pipe that runs around to the heater?

Coreplugs from supercheap or repco wouldn't cost more the a couple of bucks. The pipe scenario would be a bit more as it would be a VW only item.

Don't get out the razor blades before you know what it is.

Locate it first

Is it anywhere close to where you were working or close to a pipe or other water fitting that's close to where you were working? Core plugs seep when they begin to corrode...you don't get coolant "pissing out", only drops on the floor. This steadily gets worse over time. The same is true for metal pipes, but hoses usually go spectacularly so that's where my bet would be. Get a mirror and flashlight and thoroughly explore the area where you suspect the coolant is coming from. Also remember that liquids can travel along cables, hoses and other parts only to drip far form the source of the leak.

In other words...locate the source before you panic

Part 2 Just gets worse - i think

after rooting around for what semed like hours, I Have taken off the black plastic shield/cover that clips onto the end of the engine covering the belts and found the leak. There is what looks like a tensioner small wheel in the belt set up and the water appears to be coming out from or right near where this wheels arm attaches to the block.

Thats the waterpump by your (bad) description.

Is it under an alloy bracket that holds the alternator and ac compressor on?

You need to remove all these things to get at the waterpump
