Hey i got hot tuning coilovers a few months back and once they were fitted the back makes some noise, it sounds like my suspension is broken but its not, even the slightest bump makes a heck of a racket. I want sure if it was maybe the setup of each strut. I have the small spring at the bottom and the big spring on top, I've asked a few of my pals some say it right but others say it should be the other way around?? I have no idea whos right or if its something else completely, bushes or mountings maybe?? any help would be great.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The location of the helper spring doesn't matter. Some manufacturers have them on the bottom, some on the top, either way they'll still do their job of keeping the spring in place at zero load.
Coilovers are a lot stiffer than your average stock standard spring and shock combo, so they place more stress on the other components of the suspension. What you may be hearing are the other parts of the suspension gradually wearing out. It's recommended that you change the rear strut mounts when you fit in new suspension. Same applies to the fronts too, but I'm guessing you're not having any problems at the front (yet) as you haven't mentioned it.
Also, it may not even be suspension related. I've noticed that **** in the hatch tend to jump around a bit more when I had my coilovers installed. Make sure stuff under the carpet (spare wheel, tools etc) are strapped down well.
