no my mates using it...got 6 months rego left.

Reasoning? turbos love gas. higher octane...cheaper than running petrol and worrying about putting 98 in it all the time...its just going to go up in price. i get a $1750 govt rebate. what else can i say it just seems logical!

I considered converting mine to gas when 98 nearly got to $2/L. Now that is semi-sane pricing again I cant be bothered but i still think about it every so often.

        Why do turbos love gas?

Re: Thestu's Vento VR6T Build Thread!

And spend twice as much...ecu, loom, injectors and paying to get it mapped properly... Gas sorts it's self out but you can also tune it to what ever you like. I get a 1750 govt rebate and it will be cheaper to run... What more can you want?

As much as I'm all for a turbo gas setup & had located & puts some parts aside to do it to my mk1 at one stage, the fueling side is easy to do.

You need to start with a standard GAS install setup, but you'll need a boost reference (modified) B2 gas convertor. You may need 2 of them depending on your planned power output, as one may not be enough.

You'll also need a Gas Research carby/throttle body.

Tuning/getting the right mixtures is the next problem.

Its about getting the right size Throttle body, the right size venturis, metering rods, progressive hose jets etc. spot on.
It may look like a simple system, but you have to know what your up against & what your doing.

Cause a GAS backfire is alot bigger than petrol back fire & can blow your intake clean apart!

Remember. 1L of compressed liquid gas in a bottle is 250L of gas in the atmosphere! YES it is!

I've seen a setup like this power a Falcon into the 9's, so it can make power when tuned right.

              But.....

The only thing I think you may have overlooked is you'll still need an ECU (preferably standalone) to control the ignition timing.

Even the mentioned Falcon ran an Autronic ECU & a Crane Fireball Capacitive ignition system to light fire.

I may still have the book here on it too.

I still love Mk3's, but the Mk4 is just that much better to drive.

Mk3 has a weight advantage though!
