recently i got an alarm which i wanna install,

problem is that im not sure where some of the thing are, like a starter kill? trunk release switch? pneumatic door unit, switch?
can someone point me in the right direction of the whereabouts of these components

well i gave it a fair go this morning and didnt manage to get it working, not all of its functions anyway

it doesnt want to unlock, the alarm, shock sensor, locking of the doors worked fine

ill explain what i have done when it comes to the remote locking, according to the diagram below, i need to cut the main wire and connect the white wire on pneumatic unit side and orange/black to the switch side of the wire
this should work in both ways, lock and unlock by switching from + and -

found the main wire, which is red/white in '97 mk3 golf, done the connection but like i said before, it locks but doesnt unlock

can someone give me some advice? im a bit stuck here, as i tried all kind of combinations, fuses blown, without much luck

theres some info here, but i cant relate top it because my system is different, much more complex

Have you set the jumper correctly?

IIRC the MK3 needs a positive pulse to lock and another to unlock. That diagram in the link Rayray posted looks correct to me.

You don't need to go near the vacuum pump. Those wires going into the drivers door are where you should hook up.

All you do is solder onto them. Should be really easy to do and wire the alarm to positive trigger. Don't use the vacuum AudiMerc thing.

He is talking about the length of the pulses. Half a second or 5 seconds, I think it'll run off half a second. If you could have got a 40 second pulse for locking, then you could have had it roll up the windows if they are electric.

o gottit now, yeah thats all good
cos my locking is pneumatic 5 sec has to be chosen, opened the box and set it up
it only has 0.5 and 5 sec pulse duration

It would work off half a second, as there is some electronics in the pump that latches onto the control signal.

If you can extend the pulse to 40seconds the car will shut the windows too. Assuming they are electric.

ill try with 0.5 sec as well, when i get time, between work and exams just dont have time to spear in the garage
the car needs a wash, spare set of wheels has to go on so the wheels can be repaired as well as the car, its probably gonna be all done by next weekend, fingers crossed
alarm will have to wait until then
