  • VR6 insurance?

    Hi fella's,

Who are you guys insured with and what are you paying? I got quoted about $1100 from Just Car Insurance for a 95 VR6!!! I have had full comp for the past 8 years with AAMI and have never had a claim!

A bit steep i think seing as the car only cost me $3500!

    Anyone find cheaper insureance?

why would u be looking at just cars anyways? its not like a vr6 is a crazy jap import. ive rang a few companies in the past about insuring it and none of the mainstream companies have ever had an issue with it. I have had quotes over $1200 tho.

its because its a v6 in a small hatch, its a rating nightmare.

mines ~1300 with shannons from memory. 22 and one at fault in the last 5 yrs.

I'm an insurance broker during the day, if you guys are desperate for a quote let me know. We don't really deal with cars but i still have access to the product.

Thomastown is not the best area to live in when it come's to car insurance!

My Ins. cost is $550/yr with NRMA for a 2006 Polo GTI. But I'm checking with Shannons (if they ever answer my query).

yeah with shannons if u get knocked back or a bad quote first time round try again later some of their phone monkeys are a bit fickle.

when i mentioned to them i was already insured but unhappy with the company they asked what i was paying and offered to beat it. But yeah. if they ask the question are u an ethusiast. YES YOU ARE. and YES youre a member of car clubs and u like to attend their events and stuff.

One operater rejected me for a quote on a porsche 944 S2 that i was thinking of purschase. and then one guy was happy to quote me on e 944 Turbo S that i come close to buying.. Its all over the place.

shannons also offer free windscreen per year and the option to pay a bit extra and keep your wreck if something goes pearshaped. They are also really mod friendly.

the buy back of a wreck is the reason im still with shannons, i could get my insurance cheaper but noone else offers that benefit.
