  • ABS in a MK3 - DIY ?

    Hi Guys,

    I have a 94 Mk3 - and no ABS.

Is installing ABS onto this model plausible ? Is it something that can be done DIY ? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Love the car and want the kids to drive it - but would prefer them driving a car with ABS

    Tks

Its possible, but difficult and the abs system fitted to these cars is early and usually flawed and faulty.

I reckon you would be better sendeng the kids on an advance diving course and teaching them cadence braking.

Loon's right , teach 'em how to brake. A good driver will always out stop ABS.

Agreed. The MK3 brakes, when in good shape, stop quite well, and provide good feedback to the driver.

Be cheaper to buy another Mk3 with ABS fitted rather than get it fitted to the car you have

thanks guys - appreciate your input.
I like the idea of the driving course - and probably a better set of rubber
