actually, i just remembered, if you already have a mk3 with a 2 liter, Reflex Tuning make a distributor kit, so the 1.8t fits straight in, uses same everything, the ecu just thinks with the help of their chip that it is running the stock motor with a turbo. ecu doesnt know any different. uses all standard wiring loom, sensors, plugs and everything. can even run AC, PS etc
just search reflex tuning on google and u should find it
if i blow my vr6 up *touch wood!* this is what ill do i think, seems real easy.

just make sure you research with your local engineer/RTA about legalities of it. cause you don't want to have a stack in an illegal car. big whoopsie.
fror example, in VIC you'd have to run the standard ECU, aftermarket would require emissions testing, which would cost an arm and a leg. (not hundreds, thousands!)
