Mysteries revealed!!!
I hadn't checked the lower part yet. But there's a shelf there that's practically useless. Kinda iritating too, where to keep CDs?!
I might hit up the VW wrecker I found this week and see what he's got!1996 Golf VR6 Colour Concept Green

CDs go in a cd wallet of course! and that sits nicely in a door pocket

I'm far too picky on what I want to listen to to keep a wallet of discs. Just pluck what I fancy that very second from my collection!
A glove box would be handy to stow them away in though. Failing that of course, theres always the under-the-seat trick.1996 Golf VR6 Colour Concept Green

True true. For me id just get one and fit it...stuff painting it.
When the time comes to sell the car, put the blue bin thing back in it.
And sell the glovebox to another mk3 owner.
What models of mk3 were sold new in ozzie? 3dr? 5dr? vento? variant? cabrio? cli/gli? gti? (8v & 16v) vr6?
Can you guys import second hand ones from japan? or singapore? south africa?Last edited by bsting; 22-03-2007, 05:09 AM.mk3 GTI 16v 3dr

I believe there were the 1.8L CL (later models came in 3-door), 2.0 GL (all 5-door), VR6 (all 5-door), early Cabrio and the late Mk3.5 Cabrio, and the Vento (I've seen GL versions around, not sure if there were any other versions). No variants and no GTI. I'm not sure but there may have been TDI's too? *looks at Oli*
Imports require a 1 year ownership of the car from wherever it is bought from, before you are able to bring it down. That's privately though.

How could they do that?
When i bought my VR6, i had no idea there were no glove boxes in them, i cant tell you how weird that is, it doesnt look good on VW at all theat they couldnt design a better dash so that it incorporates a glovebox....
Its almost bordering pathetic, and thats coming from a dub head!
so if you were to get your hands on a glovebox off a 96 model, is it easy to fit in place of that pencil holder?sigpic

easy peasy to replace. hardest bit is getting a glovebox.
Ive been keeping an eye out for one and it seems they usually go for around $100!
