VR6 Oil Leak

Hey guys, my VR has got a bit of an oil leak at the moment and I am trying to suss out where it's coming from and how much work is going to be involved to fix it.

I know it's a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question and pretty general but I was hoping from the attached photo someone might have idea of where the oil may be leaking. In the photo it looks like the oil is fall straight on top of the oil filter housing

that hose holds coolant not oil.

With oil leaks the best thing to do is get in there and clean it up.. Then you will be able to see where it is weeping from. Its a bit hard to see much from that photo

If its in the oil cooler vicinity good chance itll be the o rings for the cooler, common that. there is 2 in there sandwiched between the plate and the cooler. Having said thatn looking at the piccie the oil pressure switch is leaking

yyyyep mine did that. caused a nice constant drip

I cleaned it up the other day with some degreaser. I checked it again today and there's oil there again. Sorry for the crappy picture the oil looks as though it's hitting the sensor on the right hand side. Is there anything above that where an oil leak could originate?

I reckon its the sensor. Take the rubber boot and wire off and rock the electrical connector on the top of the sensor back and fore. I bet it then drips.

I had the oil switch leak in my car. It would fill up the little rubber boot over the switch with oil.

It was really clear to see with the boot off and the car on. Give it a bit of a rev and hopefully you'll see it coming from there.

I say hopefully because it was quick and cheap fix...

Well as Golf Loon and Malteser has described, i took the boot of the top of the sensor and oil ran everywhere. I did try to rock it back and forth but it doesn't move at all although it is a very tight space.

So I assume this means I need a new sensor then? Any idea where I can get a new one relatively cheap and quickly?
