Just for more information, what were the sales statistics related to the Ventos here in Australia? I just see so much more Golfs running around than Ventos that it almost makes me think that Ventos were privately imported or somethin'. -

Yes, they were sold here. My mate Brian has one. They were priced around $5000 more than the equivalent Golf and had a slightly softer suspension.

Saw two today. A green one wearing 17" chromies (was moving so I don't know what they looked like) on Concord Rd (Strathfield) during peak time, and a red one in Eastwood. Both didn't pay attention to me so I'm guessing they're not a part of this forum... However, I did see a white Mk2 in the Ryde area that gave a passing glimpse
