  • Genuinely suprised

since i diagnosed the car had a busted altenator, i pulled the majority of the front end off to get to it,

pulled it off and decided to get it bench tested at the electrician after diagnosing the brushes are A ok are narrowing it down to the regulator,

i decided its a pretty simply task to do myself and so if went off to try and find a bosch reg, going past peps in liverpool they were able to get it for $175 pretty expensive if you ask me and will be available in two days and i cant wait that long),

so i decided to try burson auto and are more expensive at $220 from bosch in melbourne (again way to expensive and i cant wait for two days to get it in).

then i tried my last resort at the stealership (as its so called) and was suprised to get it at $90 including gst and amazingly available next day in the morning.

its either vw made a mistake or its super cheap or the most probable reason would be i just got ripped off quotes from the rest of the retailers.

this is seriously the first time the dealership has offered a part cheaper than outsiders. has anyone had similar situation?

You can buy oil and fuel filters for around $15 from the dealer on most mk3's. They're dearer from supercheap and are Chinese reps anyway

That's actually amazing. I'll be sure to try them for other stuff.
