Hey Fellas
Im new to this site, so i apologize in advance if i have posted this in the wrong section, anyway the problem is as follows:
The battery died a short time ago + the vr6 hasn't been run for some time now, anyway.. i believe my brother tried jump starting it with a portable jump starter, however i think he placed positive on positive and negative on negative instead of earthing/grounding the black. I hear that this can cause a surge of some kind which can effect the computer.
The golf will start up with another battery however it will cut off/ almost straight away once the engine fires, even if i "rev" it
If im right about the computer issue, is there anyway which i can get my hands on a aftermarket/second hand computer? and for how much?
"1996 Mk3 Vr6 Golf"
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers Matt
