            Thanks mate, will do.

Does anyone know where I can get some floor mats as the ones at autobarn seem to all be weird fitting and are too wide for the drivers side.

            Thanks

                Thanks mate.

I have a couple more questions guys:

A: Can an mk4 rear bench seat be made to fit into a mk3 golf? I am guessing there would be some form of modification needed? Is this the same for front seats?

B: Does anyone know what difference in MM that the front wheels stick out compared to the rears? For example, if the front wheels have an ET of 15, what would the ET of the rear wheels be to make them stick out the same? Sorry, bit of a confusing question.

C: One for the stereo guys and girls, do any of you put extra strengthening material on the parcel shelf when installing speakers on it? I want to put some 6x9s and the guy at JB suggested making a new parcel shelf but I think he was just trying to con me out of hard earned coin.

                Thanks

Hmmm I see, well I didnt really want to ruin my original one so I might buy a spare and build it up to hold the 6x9s and not rattle too much

You'll need to do some modifying (welding) to fit Mk4 rear seats.

With camber settings to take into account, it's hard to define the difference in where the wheels sit. But in really general specs, I've found with a VR6 setup, the fronts would stick out 10mm more compared to the rears. On CL/GL, it would be less.

As for speakers, I've found that a good set of splits on the front + sub in the hatch is perfect for the Mk3. Saving on the 6x9's to go for better splits is a better idea IMO. But if you still wanna go for the 6x9's, I'd suggest making a new parcel shelf too. Buy some MDF board from Bunnings, cut to size and retrim it. Better than cutting through your current parcel shelf.

                        Thanks guys.

Another quick one, my car has no side skirts and it looks weird as like most, it has a front and rear black plastic splitter, what sort of skirt would I be looking for? Will a 4dr one fit a 2dr golf?

                        Thanks

I found that my old car went well with front JL audio splits, rear doors modded to fit original frontdoor speakers and an 12" amp+sub combo. The 12" could even have been too much for the car (I'm not too into RnB though).

Splits in the front and a sub is ample. Ive put splits in the rear aswel and its a tad overkill I reckon. Cutting into the parcel shelf and fitting speakers looks whack. See if you can get some good low range 6's in the back side section instead if you want speakers in the back.

Don't see why 4door skirts wouldnt fit the 2door, may take some persuasion, but should work alright.

Thanks guys, I actually bought some JL splits, I have an old 12" sub in box so ill just play with that stuff and see how I go.

I can't wait to get this car together. Coilovers coming hopefully by the end of the week...

JL is a good choice, you won't be disappointed

I've got two sets of splits, 6x9's AND a sub in the car, and I love having that much sound. I'm biased though because I got a stash of spare cash to spend on the system when I first got the car hehehe. Oh, and the 6x9's were already in my car. My parcel shelf feels nice and stiff, not sure what it's like compared to others but if it's not very easy to bend it don't worry about reinforcing it.

With the sideskirts, the only thing you'll want to check for is car length itself, which I doubt will be different but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
