Oh that looks really cool man, I think I might copy you if I don't go for a CAI! Although, originally I wanted to actually have my pod sitting BENEATH the hole in the metal, but I'd need a fairly small pod filter for that (mine doesn't fit).

Sorry to post hijack, but i was in the shed and had an idea.
could somehting like this work ?
could you modify your stock airbox to house a pod ?. Just by eyeing it out, it looks like it could be done with only a few mods. (smaller pod would help aswell)
Thoughts ?. Im not sure if it would be any better then a pannel filter. other then the sound.
I've thought about that many times, but to be honest it's probably not worth the effort. A K&N panel filter will do the same thing and require less modification.

So really the only benifit could be the sound of the pod.
It would also make having a pod on there legal.
Over the weekend ill have a good look at it and see what I can come up with.
Anyone have any benefit from the K&N Panel filter? Also noise???? I want seriouse hectik fully bamn induction
as far as I know a panel wont change the noise (someone with more experience can elaborate) a pod will get you that noise.
My 2.0L sounded so much better and throatier with the pod on there!
I thought about putting the pod inside the original airbox, but would require alot of cutting and pi55ing about to be worth it really. Will make a box to house it when I get a chance.
I've got a hose going from the end of the pod to my front right air duct to help feed some more air into the pod, just dont have any pics of it. Think I used a large vacuum cleaner hose I nicked from work a while ago, works a treat

In some states it isn't illegal to have a podfilter, as long as it is secured and doesn't move around (unlike mine!). I know here in SA you are allowed one intake mod (ie pod OR intercooler) as long as it meets other regulations (ie no cutting of structural metal etc etc). In Victoria I was told it has to be sealed to make it legal (incase of under bonnet fires).

all i know is it makes an awsome sound
i suppose the closer the pod is to the firewall the louder it is
