Broken bonet release

Hi the bonet on my 97 golf cl will not open the release level has no tension on it. Do any of you guys know if this is an easy fix the auto club said only the dealer service could fix it?

If your cable is broken you'll need to wire up a new one or repair yours, which could both be just as difficult as each other..sorry I can't be any more help

cable has probably snapped or come off at the joining section.

Good luck opening the bonnet and you will need a new cable I`d say.
