  • Foglight Rubber Seal repair/replacement?

    Howdy all

After making the mistake of buying a set of cheapy foglights from ebay, the rubber cup/seal that came with them has deteriorated and craked to the point were water had gotten onto the globe and blown the globe.

I was wondering if anyone out there has happened across the same issue and has come up with any repairs or even replacement for what's there at the moment.

I've thought of a few ideas with electrical conduit fittings but nothing seems to work in practice.

Could you shine a light as to which fog light set you purchased, as a warning of what ones to be wary of in the future?

You could always use a sealant type glue (waterproof) and fix it semi-permanently. Just a craft knife would cut through the seal for any bulb changes.

These are the ones. If you look at the pictures I am trying to find either a replacement or solution to the rubber cup on the back of the foglight.

It may be really annoying to have to change bulbs, but I would just silastic any joints (ie where the rubber cap sits on the plastic). I have to apply and remove this stuff while i'm at work all the time and you get used to it, trust me

If you seal up any holes, then the only way it will leak is if the front plastic cracks. To change the bulbs, just have a bit of patience and rip all the silastic off with your hands or a flathead screwdriver.
