    i just bought a golf vr6, and in need of some help
    i was wondering if anyone could help me with numbers of some vw mechanics in the melbourne area.
    and also needing the seals below the window, mine are all cracked.

      You could buy some rubber lining/seals from Clark Rubber and retrofit them over the plastics. Otherwise you'd have to go to the dealer to buy the entire plastic units as the rubber seals are attached to them. Don't know how much they cost but it wouldn't be cheap.
      Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
      Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

        Looking at the picture, I don't even think I have that seal! My window is leak free, and I do recall (ever so vaguely) people saying something about not needing them. I can't confirm that though.

          My car doesnt have that either but that rubber strip is designed to prevent dirt and leaves and sticks from getting in there and eventually rotting the windscreen area. I wouldnt mind getting a replacement too.

            it's true. that seal does nothing. it is more to prevent leaves from getting stuck in awkward locations.
