Walking through Golf Loon's (Camden GTI) workshop I spotted a set of extractors.
"What are these off"
"VR6"
"I'll take them
"
Also fitted an enclosed pod filter with a Cold Air Intake.
The extractors came off a VR6 which was getting registered in NSW from WA so he had to take them off.
Not 100% sure of the brand but having fitted many other extractors to cars I knew these were made well and would be an improvement over the standard ones.
Did it make a difference?
The car is very eager to rev in first gear meaning I have to change sooner into second and once into second it pulls swiftly through the rev range with much improved acceleration.
Out on the highway there's no need to go down a gear to pull up a hill and going down from 5th to 3rd makes overtaking a breeze.
Picked up an extra 50kms per tank which was a surprise, but I think because the car requires less throttle input it has improved the fuel economy.
Big thanks to Matt for the fitting of the extractors and CAI as I'm a lazy bugger lol.
