Thats how it should be, mine isn't that crash hot either but I do want to change the deck in mine currently just a cd player want to change it to my old deck which was a black sony Mp3 player. Also just amp the speakers and thats it nothing else, I want a decent sound and the bass is plenty from the speakers .
