        lol...a TDI would be a good motor yet would cost more than a 20v T conversion.

          I would take a 1.8T over a VR in a MK3. Want to make the thing less front heavy, easy power and they are a decent little motor

              wahhhht are you guys talking about? the mk3's came out with 'modern' tdi engines... just look at the new skoda diesels - they even have the same darned engine codes!

              i mean, you could go for a pd tdi i guess... but why bother really... when you can make 200whp from a 25 year old 1.6 turbo diesel (on total roids) and farily easy 200hp from a 1z tdi (as standard in a mk3 tdi) with plenty of mods but not breaking hte budget.... you'd just be wasting money putting a newer diesel in unless you wanted stupid numbers (and, as pointed out, no way to get them to the ground)

              heck, you want serious percentage gains? get an aaz like mine - i stated out with 68hp, now i reckon i've got atleast 95hp - theres 30% gains right there
