Ride quality is affected by spring rates I didnt say it was the be all and end all of ride quality .
I suggest you read up on your suspension from here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspension_(vehicle) . Get an understanding of how it actually works and you'll realise that a coilover that has no shock adjustement can have its ride quality changed by changing the spring rateLast edited by gldgti; 15-07-2009, 07:52 AM.Bug_racer supports the rebellion of the euro revolution

I'm saying that you cannot possibly quantify or measure the feeling people have towards the ride, and that's the reason no one is bringing up the spring rates.Last edited by gldgti; 15-07-2009, 07:53 AM.80,000km 1997 MK3 VR6 manual for sale - www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f23/80-000km-1997-manual-vr6-nsw-sydney-67658.html

If it's stiff it's stiff, if it's soft it's soft, there isn't anything else to it? i'm sure all our ass sensors are the same; So if I say "I have a set of non adjustable hottuning coilovers with 350lb springs and they're rocking the teeth outa my head!", then if you want something softish then get a lower spring rate than me
Anyway, if you don't care about ride quality or getting serious with handling, then DUMP THE DAMB POOPOO OUTA THAT 3 immediately!Last edited by gldgti; 15-07-2009, 07:54 AM.

A medium is always the best compromise. Trust me on that, because I know it from small experiencetoo high and it will fly around like a plane or a boat; too low, and it will just pull itself out of line and not be as responsive as it should; if you're in the middle you will have less bumps, more body roll, less dumpage but at the same time a much better ride, all round.

Damage can obviously occur from this and from other things while having UBERLOW cars (but that bit is obvious).

Oh and by the way! I am running quite low and my car doesn't handle as well as it could. I'm not suffering, I (and the car) still love hooking into corners and screaming through the outside(in the speed limit of course
)
