  • Hottuning coilovers fitted

Big thanks to Robin (evorobin) for the supply and Matthew (Golf Loon - Camden GTI ) for the fit of the Hottuning coilovers to my 96 VR6.
The car sits well and doesn't scrape anywhere.
Clearance is good (std BBS wheels). Will take photos during the week as the weather's been crap lately.
Definetely a big improvement over 130 000kms old suspension.
The car sits flat when cornering with very little body roll and the braking is improved with the nose of the car not tending to dive underground.
The ride is hard but not harsh and still comfortable for a 3 year old to have a 30 minute nap going home.
Steering and turn in has improved so much that you can throw the car around so easily.
Really impressed with the quality of coilovers considering the low cost.
Coming from an engineering background I can tell you the workmanship is top notch and these coilovers could easily fetch twice the money.
Also put new strut top mount bearings and wheel alignment to finish of the job.
Real happy with the end result and considering the quotes I've had from other places the Hottuning coilovers are the best bang for your buck going around.

Good write up, its good to have some detailed feedback about products that others will be looking at. Any pics of the car pre/post coilovers?

A lot of us on here ride on Hottuning and most of us recommend it on the basis of bang for buck. Great price, goes super low.

The coilovers were set up slightly lower than standard. The adjustability in height is great but if you went too low (any shock/spring combo really) you would compromise the ride quality.

            Glad you are happy mate.

We spent the time to do the perfect install. Grease on all the bushings, new strut top mountings, carefull measurements to equalise the coilovers and a wheel alignment.

Its a touch higher than some of you young uns would have it, but he ride and handling are great and it is a daily family car.

Good to see some customer feedback, now a couple of pics would be great.
