  • Coil binding

Hey all got a small problem with the vr6.

My car when I lock it to the right it makes a knocking sound. So took it to sebs a few weeks ago and he told me that it was coil binding , which they are they sit pretty close down the bottom but towards the top of the coil they are normal. Just wondering how much it would cost for some new ones my height on the car at the moment is already low , so its good I don't want to compromise that and so is the ride.

    Thanks in advnaced!!!!!!!!!

I think this happens because your top spring platforms are hitting the underside of the arch and not turning with the strut via the bearing in the strut top. I imagine a few washers under the bearing in the strut top mount might sure this. but will also raise the ride height buy the thickness of the washers.
