  • Car to the name.

    Alright,

so i said i will post some pictures of the VR6 i bought not too long ago.
I flooded the forums with typical n00b questions...much apologies...
    I pm-ed the crap out of everyone who drive/drove a VR6...very sorry.

Pictures of the Post sales, pre-mod stage (if there are any ...)

Only thing done to the car so far...a $600 service at VW Village. Awesome stuff!

I reckon a nice set of A8 wheels, and an appropriate drop in ride height and you're set!

    looks really clean.

      Haha Jarred,

Going to get the suspension done some time in the next 2-4 weeks...still deciding and waiting on feedback by dealers...

Going to get 4 x 205/50/15 RE001s (Bridgestone at Kingsford) tomorrow. Head down to muffler shop (best muffler) to see what can be done to the suitcase.

Euro front lip will becoming in the next 1-2 working days (thanks Dub Addiction!)

      =)

Woahhh, you don't see one in that colour every day..that colour is sick man. I'd swap my car for that colour in a heartbeat! Keep it clean for both your and the car's sake hehe.

Can't wait to see it with some tasty wheels and limited tyre-to-arch gap

Mrk_Mickey - Objective is to keep it retro stock...so no rims, no mk4 head lamps, no bodykit..just tastfully Wolfsburg made MK3..only asethic mod is Euro front lip and some custom Euro plates =)

Next up is as mentioned: RE001s, Suitcase replacement, Suspension and intake (BMC maybe..the drift brand..from autobarn..no where to be found)...

Any other feedback will be great...

Sounds like good plans to me, great colour too. I reckon you might be persuaded to get some new wheels once you realise how good mk3's look on retro bbs.

I've essentially done the same thing to mine...I've kept it all OEM. My wheels are from an Audi and they're the same style as the stockie BBS's, and my headlights are the same but painted for a smoked effect OEM+ wins!!

Even with stock wheels these cars look great when they're lowered. Can't wait for that

                Yeah...stock look is good.

                I just got 4 x RE001s for the BBS.
Went down to Best Mufflers...got a quotation for a custom catback - Berklee Brand in mild steel ..~900 bucks...still considering doing it...1.5k magnaflow sytem stainless steel

I need some suggestions....i am going to get my suspension done...and from the pics, the ride hide is abit high...but its good enuff for daily driving..like not bottom-ing out...anyone can suggest is it possible to lower the car but still remind good ride quality?

Wow.... Midas quoted me $438 the other day for a mild steel catback with stainless tips.

I know some people on here, Mickey and Simon both got Magnaflow back boxes which were then made onto mild steel systems which were made at an exhaust shop, I'm quite tempted to do the same myself as well...

Magnaflow back box has the tips already there and gives a great burble too Definitely not the cheapest around but worth it if you don't mind spending the extra coin.

Mate if you grab a Magnaflow backbox from ebay and get an exhaust shop to put that and a resonator behind the cat with new pipes it shouldn't cost you more than 500. It sounds fricken SWEET (biased?)

                        Hmm...yeah

so for $900 bucks..i am given..

                        1) a new 2.25 resonator which sits behind the cat (cat remains the same), 2.25 to the new suitcase (muffler) and a new muffler...all mild steel...and
                        tagwelded.

don't know if its a good deal..anyone has any other place to recommend?

thats pretty much what I asked Midas for in either 2.25 or 2.5 inch, so yeah your basically paying twice what you should by the looks of it... find another muffler place
