"Who said VR6's can't handle?" They were referring to the stock car.

The sound is epic! It pulls like a freight train - what would a VR6 with Schrick manifold, cams and other basic mods pull at the wheels?

I've just gone through his build thread and BY GOD he's done a lot of weight saving work...

There's HEAPS of work done on this car and here's me thinking it wasn't too extensive...hah!

How much would a set like his O.Z's (superleggera's i think?) be worth?

no idea but you can get ultraleggeras for $1200 USD from tire rack. Way, way more if you went local.

Freakin weird build, and in its current form, and as it is in the video, there is no freakin way I'd get in that car on the road or track!

For some reason he's only running a BOLT in cage, and it only goes to behind the rear seats, to make matters worse, it looks like some of the behind dash re-enforcing has been removed, not to mention any of the side intrusion safety measures! Sure you have a racing seat and harness, but what happens when that dash or a door is suddenly sitting a foot behind your head!

MDT's old car, now at VP, is a much better vehicle!
Properly caged, big valve head, shricks, LSD, koni's and 330mm R32 brakes...
And that car is so much fun to be in!

I for one certainly think the stock-o vr6's can handle. Very nicely!

You reckon? I got mine off a mechanic up here in brisbane, moved on from a little Alfa Romeo, but its lowered with hard arse koni yellows on it, Not sure if its loose as i have only driven it twice, cause i lost my license two days after i got the new car, but i know you certainly dont get the sense of excitement thru the twisties that u do out of the alfa at the same speed.

By this i mean, i will go thru a set of corners at 80 in the alfa say, and think **** that was great, i do it in the golf at the same speed, think yeah that was nothing too special, whats next. You know what i mean?

As in on the VR or Alfa? Because if they're on the Golf...it's not stock-o.
I Suppose i hadn't thought of that, and yeah, they are on the golf. I Just put them on before i got the car, but with the original shockies, the car still felt pretty good on open windy corners that i test drove it on.

Damn i just that up didnt i

And by "I Suppose i hadn't thought of that", i mean the car not being stock-o,
sorry having a really bad day, thank god its friday! Hopefully i will come good
                            with a few rumbo's

the stock VR6 handles like a boat, more like an oceanic barge. Not as bad as a falcadore though, put some coils/shocks in and you will understand how well the chassis is made and how well they handle, despite the big lump on the front.
