Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • What would go wrong?

arrhhh...just took my car into K-xxxx and ask them to do the time belt and waterpump for me, so they just drain my G12 which is a month old and poured some green Castrol coolant in it!!! should I just leave it for a while or flush it again ASAP? What would happen if I don't? coz i don't have a place to work on my car.
    Cheers

Don't take your vw at that place there cheaper for a reason, take it to a vw specialist if you don't want to work on it yourself. It won't hurt the car but change it when you got a free moment, I wouldn't stress about it.

No way would I have anything other than VW coolant. You are asking for trouble.

At least it has coolant in, not just water.

I`d leave it till the next oilchange and sort it then.

Just goes to show, either take everything to the monkies and get them to fit it exactly as you instruct them, or take it to someone who knows the cars.
