Good move
I replaced my water pump today, been very noisy lately. Turned out it had a really badly worn bearing and was threatening to let go. It had a plastic impeller that was worn nearly to the point of breaking!!! Potential for some nasty damage there... I'd suggest all GL owners consider shelling out around $250 (less if you can do it yourself - about $95) and getting an aftermarket pump with a metal impeller. Could save you BIG TIME in the long run...
My little baby has 160k on her, and still going hard.
