i just thought id post up some of the mods iv done lately and soon to be done

i got my steering wheel re leathered cost me 330 but very worth it
    before

    after

at first i only put one in but it just wasnt strong enough so a second was needed these were 40 bucks each from super cheap but make sure the packet still has the ball joints in because people steal them

a much needed brake upgrade EBC drilled and slotted 280mm rotors green stuff pads rear dustless pads all up 500
i dont think its a good idea if i run new brakes just before a cruise apparently they need 700 km to properly wear in

also painted my calipers rears still need to be done though

also took my rear wing off as usual it was grey and looked pox so i took info from bboyskidz DIY thread and went and bought some blanking gromets they didnt end up fitting
so i shaved them in half with a sharp blade i used some special polyurethane mastik we make at work and stuck them on the inside of the window,
also used the same stuff to fill the holes left in the window ironically its actually used to stick windscreens in place so its strong stuff

why not just take it off and give it a decent coat of Forever Black or the ol' favourite Kiwi shoe polish. both have proved to work a treat!

          it'll look like new then.

Steering wheel looks awsome, something I need to do as mine is getting very shabby!
Rotors are the same as mine (but bigger!). So far so good but Im not a huge fan of the Greenstuff pads as they take some time to heat up before they work the best. Fine on a cruise, but first thing in the morning on the way to work it can get a bit scary!! Let me know how you go with that setup once its all bedded in and going nicely

Good work mate, love the steering wheel! Are the calipers painted dark blue? It's hard to tell from the pics.

Cos it's a different plastic to the exterior trim; it's much less porous so the shoe polish wipes on and wipes straight off. And leaves applicator marks everywhere

Forever black will do the job, if I can ever be bothered to get around to it..

yeah hopefully my rear pads will make up for that apparently there pretty good, the shop selling them recommended them over the bendix pads so yeah
there also meant to leave very little dust, fingers crossed

i got the brakes from here http://rdabrakes.com.au/
just my luck there is a thomastown dealer and it just so happens i work in tomo so too easy

i painted the calipers bright blue thats what the can says anyway
i got it from autobarn i think the r32 is a similar colour

I think he was saying his brakes are the same brand, but your brakes were bigger! The GL came with 256mm, early VR6 came with 280mm, later VR6s came with 288mm.

I really like how the steering wheel came out, looks really good.
Is it any thicker that the original? It looks like it.

And you have to give some progress reports of the brakes and pads, especially with the brake dust. I hate brake dust sooo much.

                              Some really cool mods there
