i don't like the look of them at all. I've seen them on that red mk3 (BOK17 ??) and just think they ruin the back end. Each to their own i suppose but i think money could be well spent elsewhere on an mk3.

On a different note its remarkable how expensive they are on ebay and Vortex, close to $250 shipped

Not for everyone but definately something quite rare for the MK3's...

I'd consider it if I had a great set of wheels, suspension, and an exhaust done first but otherwise I'd save the money. I don't mind the look of em but they are pretty damned expensive. Having said that those 90's parts like this and abt are pretty cool for a retro look..

What if I got it for next to nothing (comparatively speaking) would people think of it differently then?

nope. don't think so. i wouldn't turn one down if i got it for free, but i'd never put it on my car. I'd find some sucker and turn a profit on it. lol

                  def: Bargain:
something you don't need at a price you can't refuse!

It would still look silly imo, no matter how cheap or expensive it is.

i wouldn't put it on my car if someone paid me $20 to put it on.

it's one of those parts that i would be looking to pull off if it came like that from factory. it just makes the back look too busy.

The clean vortex look has already washed off me some time ago, MK3's have become way to homogeneous atm, I'd be willing to have one of these on just to look different to every other MK3 that isn't bog stock tbh...

maybe you could use it as some sort of toilet seat while you're out camping?
