    Keep the Golf

Don't swap for a Vento as nice as they are.

I'll swap ya for the audi

        seriously...

it's got a massive boot. and would look sweet on airride.

You'd probably want to keep the RS's though.

If I had a vento I'd swap for the mk1 with the wheels, if not I'd want another 2k on top!

What he said basically, as nice as your MK1 is it still has a real tangible value which your going to have to consider when your looking to make a swap.

hahaha, well, to tell you the truth, there is a recipt in my logbooks saying $8k last may.... and that was in stock trim..... so technically the vento trade will be ripping me off if the suspension and wheels are on it....

The last receipt for my VR6 was 14k that wasn't that long ago either, and you really wouldn't want to see what 1 year old caddy's go for at auction believe me

No matter what condition it is in I'd still see it as more unless I was a enthusiast.

Either way when I sell the mk1 I want 6k for it and I won't settle for less

Exactly, its pointless to try to determine the value based upon the last receipt, heck your VR6 doesn't even run !
A nice Vento is around 7k, and almost all are auto

Even good Mk1s dont sell. Everyone wants one for $1000, and will then spend another $6k to get it up to scratch. Its easier to just buy one for $5k that has had $10k spent on it, but most people who want a Mk1 dont have that kind of budget.

I can think of lots of better cars you could get for $6k.

Sorry for the hijack Wabit. Sell your Mk1 and then buy a Vento, but there are bugger all out there...
