If its the original head unit for the vehicle and you can grab the vin number for the car, VW might be able to help you out with the radio code. I know we could easily get it for Mitsubishi's when I worked in the parts department there

According to the paint code it's maritime blue. Pretty much the usual blue you see on most GL's floating around

Lads, called up VW dealer and they said bring the headunit in (easier out of the car apparently) and some proof of ownership, and for a fee they can get a code (she said $30 odd) and reckoned there was no point finding the original code as she said head unit may have changed or the code will have.

p.s. on the blue thing, anyone know the name of my Vento's blue?

vw got the code for my gfs radio for free.
shes 3rd owner, just had to supply vin and rego (i took the car there also just to prove i/we owned it)
