  • Indicators - open to suggestions

    Hey guys,

So I bought Steve's shaved bumper. Now I have to find a place/fitment for indicators that are going to be seen so I can actually put the bumper on

I was going to do this:

With a finished result like this:

But as it says in the DIY it's not plug and play, there's modification (movement) of other parts necessary to get one side to fit. Here's what I have to move on the driver's side duct:

I'm not 100% sure how to do that so if anyone knows, let me know! If not, I'm open to suggestions of what to do about the indicators. I can't afford new headlights (yet, anyway) so I'd like to use indicators either in here or SOMEHOW in my current headlights..I was thinking Mk1 turns because they're thinner (and I assumed shallower, but maybe not).

Hmm..may have even answered my own question. I have a spare set of side-repeaters...if I got the plug off those (which I'll need to buy) and put them onto my front indicator wires would they work? Not too savvy in the electrics dept as you can tell

    Cheers

Mk3 side repeaters in those holes will look better than Mk1 indicators I reckon.

Not as good as Mk4 style lights though

Should be an easy wireup. Its 2 wires and it doesnt matter which way round they go.

Yeah yeah, not getting headlights until I can AT LEAST afford it

I'd probably go with lights like Steve's and somehow wire the lower of the two ''indicator'' style bulbs for a city light.

Will try a wrecker or somewhere similar tomorrow for some of the side repeater plugs so I can be on my (albeit temporary) merry way

Oh and while I'm here...has anyone got pics (if any) of front number plates mounted on brackets? Perhaps brackets that are bolted into the bottom instead of the front of the bumper. Bit hard to explain, my bad

L-brackets from Bunnings, mount where the bumper mounting bolts are. Off to the side, directly in the middle, whatever you feel like on the day!

                Examples:

Or even a hide-away licence plate holder: http://www.swiftmotorsports.com/prod...42b030827dc2e3

Lol cheers Ray. I was actually thinking of inverting the bracket so it went UP instead of down. Steve's bumper isn't smoothed right through so I'd like to leave the number plate in the same position.
