  • the different lips..

there was some info somewhere, goodness knows where i can find it now lol...

AFAIK, there are two lips for the mk3; the duckbill and the deep euro lip. but supposedly other lips can be fit on, and there's also that other in-between lip that was on the blue vento mk3 in the mk3 appreciation thread.

Has anyone got info about the uncommon/other car model's lips and their compatibility/availability?

    Cheers

Yeah that's exactly what I'm asking about James!! I'd love one, simply because they're flat and don't have that ugly cut-out like the deep spoiler does, or the dip-up on the side like the duckbill does; oh and they're not as deep as the euro's so they're more practical.

So can someone confirm the seat ones fit?

Nothing fits exacltly. You can make anything fit if you are determined.

Yeah Matt's right. The shape's *roughly* the same, but will need some cutting/trimming at the tabs on the spoiler. The only lips that directly fit are the two standard ones you mention, and also the aftermarket lips made by Zender, ABT etc. The OEM+ ones like the Seat and US-market ones will most likely need trimming. Whereabouts exactly I don't know, but putting these lips side by side with a standard duckbill will help.

Also, I think the Euro-market Vento lips should fit on the Golf bumpers fine...

well...I don't like the deep euro lips much, and that ^^^ looks so much cleaner. So is that a north-american one? Can they be sourced at all over here?

Look into the Vento one as it's VERY similar, and I'm pretty sure it will fit without modification (whereas with the NA one, it will sit to narrow - you'll have to cut slits at the bends so you can flex it out more). Find the part number (I could help you with that later), go to a VW Parts dealer and you can have a new one in no time at all.
