I'd own one for sure.. Always been a fan of the Harlequins.

There's just something about the Harlequins that is exactly what a Golf and Volkswagen are all about, like the quirky and individual styling. Or even an individual engine like the VR6.

It's sorta sad to see that carmakers nowadays wouldn't dare do anything like this because there's no money in it.

The harliquins were released in Europe as long ago as the aircooler beetles, very collectable these days. The beetles made good ones cause of their bolt on guards ect and really stood out.
So whose going to be the first one to do one on Australia?
I was thinking of doing it with Gunter, my competition car years ago.

Theres a couple of ropey looking Mk3s in Sydney with all different panels.

Dunno if they are trend setters or povos though.

i love just how different they are
they looks fantastic, however it is sad that car makers wont do anything as daring as this anymore, sometimes modern times are just so bland!

You could make your own easily, I reckon. Get the correct paint codes and befriend a paint shop competent enough and you're set!

The odd coloured BBS rims look a treat, really seals it.

Yeah i was thinking of doing this with a Mk1 4 door when i get the 16v done. I reckon it would be cool as!

They did it with the Mk1's back in the day, from what my old man was telling me.
