  • mk4 seats in a mk3

    I was looking at these:

and was wondering how hard it would be to fit them in a mk3. would there be any/much welding involved?

I need something to do over my christmas break

Haha buy them, THEN worry about it

Steve's done it and they fit well. PM him about it. Also search on Vortex for mk4 seats. Lots of info and pictures.
    Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
    Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

yeah they are cheap i bet they put a few dummy bids in tho, i would not pay more than $700.00 for them tho me and neil both sold our seats for around that price.
mk4 the mods begin for round 2 hahahha

Hahaha you can borrow it soonish man lol maybe.

If you really want I will help you with it! Its really not that hard once you have done it once. I can make the brackets aswell apart from the rear one, but I know Seb has a beetle for sale which has the same rear bracket that you need.

spent about an hour sifting through useless threads on vortex just now. basically all of them say you have to trim the wheels to fit in the rails a bit, remove the old brackets and weld in some new ones to fit the mk4 fronts.

                  god i hate vortex. lol.

Dude your pretty much on the money right there will have a detailed thread in the next few days for you.

But vortex did help very much, do a search for "Just bought another one" & "sanya" Ray will understand what I am talking about

oh yes. sanya is a mk3 god. i love that thread. it's been going on for ages.

If you do a really detailed thread with lots of pics then you could make an 'ultimate mk4 seats in a mk3' thread on vortex and get more traffic to vww.

Yeah Sanya is good, I used him as a template and changed it up abit to suit the car. I never thought about putting it on Vortex, most of the mk3 guys are morons so I didn't really want to bother.
