    I suppose a way to get around that is to mount it outside of pod filter just like what they did for the OEM air box version. I dare someone to do it, it is going to be a good laugh. It will be funny if it actually does work ... LOL ..

        apart from the fact that fan type impellers are terrible for creating a pressure difference (why turbochargers are radial flow impellers and superchargers are mostly roots blowers) lets think about this: if you want a roots blower to make lets say a meagre 5 psi, you'll still need about 4kW at the crank (for a really good blower) at high rpm.

        so lets say you only want to make 2psi boost with this thing - then you will probably need to suck about 1.6KW of juice to run the fan to make the pressure. i dont know how many of you are wary about these things, but your starter motor also sucks about 1.6kW of power to start your car.

        so, you put a 1.6kW load on your engine thorugh the alternator.

        P=V*I - power = voltage * current. you have (under load) about 13.3V coming from the alternator if its alright - not being conservative - so you would need:

        I=P/V = 1600W/13.3V = 120A of current.

        the only electric motors i see around that can make 1.6kW on 12V are starter motors - so unless your electric supercharger looks like a startermotor, with an ENORMOUS fan attached, its not going to work. further, even if it did, your alternator would be maxed out robbing at least 1.6/0.85 (for efficiency) = 1.9kW from your engine, while your electrical leads cook trying to supply 120A to your electric supercharger.
