Just reading this thread made my skin feel all itchy ... really don't like spiders.

Anyone else have that spider sense thing? Like I'll walk into a room and feel funny and think there must be a spider in here. I look around and sure enough, I'll see one.

my mates gf was driving me home one night in their old toyota surf and we where going down this curve road at about 100kms and a green tree frog jumped out AT her and she just screamed locked up the brakes and let go of the steering wheel
needless to say a **** myself as we brake steered into a little ditch
was quite funny looking back at it now but was scary at the time

you wussies... poor thing probably already left your car anyway - the only reason it would hang around is if you had some food in there for it - is your car infested with lots of other insects?

i had an incident with a thong and a nice big funnel-web once too - the mighty thong was not so mighty faced with squishing one of those tough little dudes...
Agree, been there tried that took a lot more than 1 or 2 hits of a thong to stop it. They are mean mothers !!!

Having one scuttle across the inside of the windscreen when you're driving at night wakes you up too!
One of my mates had a white tail crawl down the inside of his visor when we were at the (karting) state championships in '96.. Fastest lap of the weekend that one!

Oh by the way.. We've had huntsman's the size of your hand span or bigger here. At our old house it was a constant thing. There was always one on the wall or the roof somewhere. They love hiding behind picture frames too!

When i was pulling apart the GLI i found 3 in the rooflining alone.

They realy like to live behind the side mirrors.

Thanks guys, I've been laughing and shivering the whole time reading this thread. I bloody hate huntsmans. My mum told me there was one in her Focus a couple of months ago so I looked around for it but couldn't find it. I needed to get dropped off somewhere so I got in the front passenger seat and just as my mum started the car I saw something move out the corner of my eye. Sure enough the sneaky bastard was climbing up the fricken door right next to me. I yelled out and pushed my mum out the driver's seat and out the car whilst I climbed over the centre console to get as far away as possible. Boy did it get my heart beating!! Suffice to say that eight-legged creature now resides in huntsman heaven.

They do bite but they're not venomous, thank ****. They also jump too - I've had one jump off a tree onto my back, and thankfully jump straight off again. So every time I see one I never take my eyes off the suckers.

PS: They have also been known to make 6'5" 100+kg Canadian 'men' run and squeal like girls hahahaha!

Yeah found that out when I had to brush the side mirror every morning cos it'd just be littered with cobwebs!
