My 60's Mercedes has given me less trouble in 18 months than this VR6 has in like two weeks!

The 4Motion isn't without its issues (I've had my share - $2,500 for new clutch and flywheel to start with, though that was after 90,000km) - but it's a newer car, and so probably has fewer (as a lot of issues with VR6s are simply due to age - it's not fair to compare to really old cars, as they were much simpler beasts).Originally posted by bahjah View PostGood to see that this thread is still going strong
I'm thinking about a 4mo now instead
Nothing to see here...

Is it fair to compare the VR6 to a Series 4 RX7? Which has not only EFI but power windows, power steering and cruise control also. The ones I owned were '86 and '87 models, not only older than the VR6 but clearly a more complex beast. NEVER had to fix a window regulator in over 6 years. NEVER had a coilpack fail on me. NEVER had the cruise control, coolant pipes or heater core crap out on me either.Originally posted by Manaz View PostThe 4Motion isn't without its issues (I've had my share - $2,500 for new clutch and flywheel to start with, though that was after 90,000km) - but it's a newer car, and so probably has fewer (as a lot of issues with VR6s are simply due to age - it's not fair to compare to really old cars, as they were much simpler beasts).
