  • VR6 VS BORA 4 motion

Any opinions on which is quicker or better??
I've never been in a bora so I would't know how they go??
    or handle??

YOu taking about the mk3 vr6 yeah ? I would go for bora 4 motion any day. Firstly I like sedans, roomie, functional space. It is newer, 4wd, more power ( exactly I am not sure). Speedwise, even if it is slower becasue of weight I wouldn't care. MK3 are nice but when I have a family I would definately consider a sedan.

Mk4 Bora 4mo's are also 24v VR6's, not 12v's. They will feel more smooth, especially being a 4WD. I'd go for the bora too, but then again if we're looking for a V6 4mo like a bora I'd chop the boot off and make it an R32

Bora is quieter and more refined.

BUT VR6 makes a better noise and has more urgancy. I reckon it would be faster too. 4Motion gear is heavy.

4-motion has an extra 30 hp and is probably a bit more tuneable in the ECU dept.

They are in a different league moneywise though. A Bora would be quite a bit more than a Golf.

This is very true. But the fact that a bore 4mo is much easier to come by than a VR6 makes the VR6 cooler..haha I'm just making this hard for you

I think the bora makes 150kw. With all the added weight that's not really much more. I'd like one just for the all wheel drive and nice interior but I don't think performance would be better than the VR.

I would pick the bora because of the 4wd system, interior and look...but a brand new VR6 does a 0-100 in 7.6 seconds verses a bora which does it in 10.0..

                Figures from redbook...

Again i have a VR6 but would love a bora or maybe R32 or even one of those BMW 130i...mmm

They go alllllllllllllllllllllllllot faster than 10 to 100, I've driven a few. Redbook is just plain wrong sometimes, most likely due to un-knowledgeable data entry staff. I'd say they're a tad bit faster than a mkiv gti. but not by too much.

                          believe it or not.

The V5 bora is actually faster than the 4 motion bora!

                              You'd be right I reckon.

Just adding that the 4 motion is a heavy car for it's size.
