Repeated: antenna on the panel, and air-con recycle mode

Hi guys, there was a thread about this before, however its lost. I've taken the antenna out, but however having diffculty pulling out the wire which went through the firewall. Is that wire linked to the head unit? If it is, I am also having hard time to pull my head unit out, having no idea how to do it. Finally, whenever I see big trucks infront, with big cloud of smoke in summer, I always tried to turn the recycle mode on, however it doesn't work, those awful smell juz came through the air-con... when I turned the recycle mode on, theres always some sort of motor sound... "whiiiinnnnnnnn", sounds like somethings stuck, so have any of you experienced with that, and how should I overcome it? Can I actually pull it out and have a look? THANKS A LOT!!

Dunno about your heater, but the aerial wire that goes into the car has a joining piece behind the headunit. You cant just hoik it out.

Take the head unit out, remove the plastic surround and the face if poss and lever it with a small screwdriver on each side. Carefully.
