  • golf gti mk g60...

Guys been looking at a 1988 golf g60 but I cant find any definitive answers as to weather or not its a factory g60??

Did the bring out a factory rhd g60 2 door in 1988??

If this is the green one then no it isn't original. I am under the impression no mk2 g60 were factory RHD.

Nothing wrong with the fact it isn't original so long as the conversion is done well! (it's had an engine swap not a LHD > RHD swap.

Yeah seen that one also, use to be in Sydney. Obviously also imported.

Short answer is no. And they never made a RHD one at the factory.

I'm not an expert on MK2s but didn't the 16v have a 8k rev counter?!

I just had a look at the ad. Says it's sold now. From what I gathered it's pretty clear the car is converted to G60, but he said it's a factory supercharged engine from a G60 Corrado that has been fitted i.e. not an NA engine with an aftermarket supercharger bolted on.
                Nice car anyhow [emoji3]

It's better to find a car that hasn't been torn apart and put back together. Maybe they did it right. Maybe they didn't. I've always been frustrated, when I'm fixing something, and realize that a bonehead mechanic was already there, and messed things up.
