Mk3 roof gutters on mk2?

does anyone know if mk3 roof gutters fit on a mk2

Have not physically attempted myself, but i researched this a while ago for my 3dr mk2 and it seems its a no go. You can source brand new ones from china, they are for a jetta that was made there but they are too short at the back for a golf. There are plenty still in germany and uk if you can find someone willing to post.
