FYi, just answering my own question from trial at nippon.com.au
The pulley of the SD-709 does not fit correctly on the SD-508 From looking at the casing it looks identical but slightly different where the shaft protrudes for pulley attachment.
I was trying to save my pocket from buying a new compressor for my G60 project, but unfortunately it did not work.
