I'd say practically no chance of buying them off the shelf. Very few 16v engines came to Australia, so the need for them would be really limited.Originally posted by MK2 View PostCool. Does anyone know of if you can get any in Australia?
Look at the States or UK.
Why do you need valves?

Are you going to the job yourself?Originally posted by MK2 View Postim going to be recoditioning the head and was under the impression that its best to replace the valves??
A good Cylinder Head Reconditioning workshop should be able to help you. The valves would be checked/re-grinded or replaced. The valve guides will probably need replacing/re-sleeving.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link

Yeah sweet. Ive been mostly into air-cooled dubs and have had exhaust valves go a few times, so I guess im just paraniod. The thing is that I use this car daily and dont want to take the head off to then be told I need new valves and it takes another week or so to get them from the US or UK. Maybe I should just lash out and buy that P&P KR 16v head advertized on here.....

I will be taking the head off but passing it on to A engine reconditioner in Mt barker. They quoted $400 depending on the valves.Originally posted by Transporter View PostAre you going to the job yourself?

I'd be surprised if you needed valves. The guides would be worth a close eye as they don't last for ever. Usually the exhaust ones wear first.Originally posted by MK2 View PostI will be taking the head off but passing it on to A engine reconditioner in Mt barker. They quoted $400 depending on the valves.
